System Monitoring is now **updated with Smart Alerts**, using a new **rule-based** evaluation.

Smart Alerts is built for the realities of BESS operations at scale. It brings **context, prioritization, and history** to your alerts so you can focus on what matters.

With this change, you see the *latest state* of each component, rather than juggling multiple overlapping alerts. This removes confusion about what’s really happening at a given time, reduces noise when switching between views, and makes the dashboard more transparent and reliable by showing the latest state of components.

### What Smart Alerts does

- **Rule-based detection**: Configure alerts that reflect your operating philosophy or start with recommendations from TWAICE experts, tuned to common failure modes and performance drifts.
- **Advanced KPI logic**: Trigger alerts using advanced KPIs calculated by TWAICE (e.g., voltage spreads), not just raw device thresholds. This connects day-to-day monitoring with long-term health.
- **Severity categories**: Each alert is classified (critical, moderate, or minor) so engineers can prioritize work and communicate urgency clearly.
- **Breach history at a glance**: See how many times a rule was broken and when. Understand whether you’re dealing with a new issue or a recurring pattern.
- **Beyond safety — operational insights**: Surface conditions like non-operating strings that impact revenue.

### Daily status

Start with a quick snapshot of breaches on each day:

### Fleet overview

- A **donut chart** with counts of racks in **Critical**, **Moderate, Minor** or **No breach** states.
- Total counts of **Critical** and **Moderate breaches**, including how many racks are affected.

This makes it easy to focus on what’s urgent, instead of being buried under hundreds of alerts.

### Affected components table

This table brings all rules and affected components into one view. Each row shows:

- **Severity** counters
- **Rule & component** (e.g., *High String Cell Voltage max*).
- **Expandable rows** (▸) to see which racks triggered the alert.
- **Trend bars (7 days)** showing if the issue is stable or escalating.
- **Last breach** timestamp (ongoing or exact time).

- Click the **eye icon** to drill into rack-level detail.
- Use the **download icon** to export the list.

### Group alerts your way

Switch grouping via the **Group by** menu:

- Rule type (default)
- PCS (or your own name for this level)
- None

This flexibility enables you **organize alerts the way your operations team works**.

Compared to a raw alarm log, the overview list gives structure and context — so you spend less time searching, and more time solving.

### Detailed alert view

Click the **eye icon** to go to details panel for any alert.

- **Breach history & state transition**:You can check the exact breach history, how the state changed (critical, moderate, and normal) over time to understand if there is any trend evolving.

- **Time-series chart:** Expand to see the **values over time** with a graph, compare values against both critical and moderate thresholds.

- **Rack alert history**: You can also see the alert history from the same component, for a complete picture of what’s happening inside that rack.

- **Export:** Export the overview table or a rack detail view as CSV.
- **Add notes**: Provide some additional contextual information to your team members

### Add notes to the Alert Detail view

To add notes to the alert detail view, go to "latest activity". Then simply add a note to provide additional contextual information to your team members.

### Explore further with Data Explorer

Click on View in Data Explorer option. This will take you to the Data Explorer tool to analyze the issue further with more options. You can expand the time frame, zoom into specific data points or add more components.

### **Configuration**

Go to **"Configuration"** tab to customize your alerts as you prefer:

- **Enable** or **disable** alerts easily with switch button
- **Delete** or **edit** existing rules from the current rules
- **Add** new rules

**Add new rules:**

- Click on "Add Rule" to create new rules
- Add customized name and description to your rule
- Select component, sensor, operator and choose your preferred threshold value to trigger the alert.

### Notification configuration

Smart Alerts tell you what happened. Notifications make sure the right people hear about it, without an inbox full of duplicates. In the **Notification configuration** tab you decide which smart alerts trigger an email, who receives it, and how often.

### **Create a notification**

Click **Add notification** to open the 3-step setup. You can create as many notifications as you need - for example, one for critical alerts going to the on-call team, and a separate one for moderate alerts going to asset management.

**Step 1 - Define scope:**

Give the notification a name, then select the smart alerts it should cover from the table (severity, threshold, rule name, condition and component type are shown for each). Search by rule name to narrow the list; a live counter shows how many alerts you have selected in total. The panel at the bottom previews the coverage: you will be notified when **any** of the selected alerts is triggered. The optional **Notification description** is for your own reference — it is not shown to email recipients.

**Tip:** Use "Group by - Rule" to select multiple severities for the same rule more quickly.

**Step 2 - Delivery:**

Add one or more recipient email addresses. Notifications are sent immediately as smart alerts occur, with a cool-down applied per smart alert - **set to 30 minutes by default**, adjustable in minutes, hours, or days. The cool-down is the noise control: if the same smart alert is triggered again inside that specified window, no further email goes out for that smart alert. Other smart alerts are unaffected and will still send.

**Step 3 - Review & confirm:**

Review the full setup on one page and see a preview of the email your recipients will receive. Add yourself to the recipient list first if you want to try it, then use Send test notification to send yourself a sample, then **Save** to activate.

### **How notifications decide to fire**

Emails are sent on a change of state, not repeatedly while a condition persists - and you get one email per smart alert breach, however many components are affected by it. On sites with many components flapping in and out of an smart alert state, this is the difference between a handful of useful emails and hundreds of unusable ones.

Each smart alert has its own cool-down, so a critical alert is never held back because an unrelated moderate one fired first.

Emails point to the site and component level and link straight into the platform, where you get the live detail.

### **Manage your notifications**

The table lists every notification you have set up, showing what it applies to, its delivery settings, and its recipients. Click the alert count to open a side panel with the full list of subscribed smart alerts. Use the switch to turn a notification off temporarily - the configuration is kept, so you can turn it back on without setting it up again. The pencil icon opens it for editing; the trash icon deletes it.

If a smart alert is later disabled under Rule configuration, it stays part of your notification but will not trigger an email.

### **Mute all notifications**

Before planned maintenance, use **Mute all notifications** to stop all outgoing emails at once. Choose how long the mute should last - 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours, with 2 hours pre-selected as a standard maintenance window - and notifications resume automatically when it expires. A banner at the top of the table shows the mute is active and counts down the remaining time, and Turn off mute now ends it early. Muting does not change your individual notifications; each one resumes exactly as it was configured. You can also mute until you switch it back on manually, but nothing will be sent until you do.
